BEIJING, June 14 (Xinhua) — China will continue to act as an important driving force for global connectivity, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said Friday.

Currently, China-Europe international freight railway routes link 128 cities in China with 229 cities in 26 European countries and more than 100 cities in 11 Asian countries, representing cooperation in connectivity between China and the world, he said at a regular press briefing.

This is how the Chinese diplomat commented on the statement that the China-Europe international freight railway routes have become an “accelerator” of economic and trade cooperation between the countries participating in the Belt and Road initiative.

According to a Chinese Foreign Ministry official, the China-Europe international freight train service, which runs every 30 minutes or less, is one of the major achievements of the Belt and Road Initiative. It operates efficiently, smoothly and stably, not only serving as a bridge for economic and trade exchanges between Asia and Europe, but also providing a driving force for the development of countries along the Belt and Road.

The China-Laos Railway and the New Land-Sea Multimodal Transport Corridor in Western China are operating smoothly, and the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Railway is under construction. According to Lin Jian, these projects are examples of how new logistics routes improve the efficiency of cross-border logistics, promote people-to-people and trade exchanges, and deepen industrial coordination and value chain integration, promoting industrial transformation and upgrading in the countries concerned and bringing a real sense of fulfillment to local residents.

"Connectivity is one of the key areas of cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative," Lin Jian added, noting that China will firmly adhere to the principles of joint consultation, joint construction and shared benefits, continue to act as an important driving force for global connectivity, and benefit the world through its own development and achieve multilateral win-win results. -0-

They took part in the ceremony of presenting passports to 14-year-old Artek children, the opening of monuments and other events.

At the central stadium, on behalf of the President of Russia, a ceremonial presentation of the Order of Honor to the staff of the International Children's Center "Artek" took place. Sergey Kiriyenko presented the award to the director of the center Konstantin Fedorenko, Vladimir Podznoyev – the oldest employee of "Artek", the editor of the film and video archive of the center's film studio and the entire staff of the center. The ceremony took place as part of the festive event "Dream, "Artek"!", in which about 3,300 children of the anniversary shift took part.

Sergey Kiriyenko emphasized that the new life of Artek began in 2014 thanks to the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He said that Russia has created colossal opportunities for children, and Artek has become a center of attraction.

"The miracle of Artek is its people, its team of like-minded people who dedicate their entire lives to children. And that is why Artek is a center of power, a place of love and dreams, a place where the future of our country is being created. But most importantly, guys, it would not exist without you. Whatever the team of organizers, counselors, teachers, and leaders does, if it were not for your glowing eyes, your smiles, your energy, the miracle of Artek would never have happened. Only together do you create it. You guys are great!" – noted Sergey Kiriyenko.

Dmitry Chernyshenko also addressed the event participants.

"For 100 years, Artek has been an international standard of quality for children's recreation. Let us all thank those who made this miracle happen – a large team led by our President Vladimir Putin, who creates conditions for you to realize your talents. This is a large team of builders, organizers, and those who work with you every day: teachers, counselors, those who help in the kitchen, clean, and guard. This is all the workforce of Artek," he said.

Denis Manturov took part in large-scale tests of promising laser systems to counter unmanned aerial vehicles

First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov took part in large-scale tests of advanced laser systems for countering unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) at one of the specialized testing grounds. The event was organized by the Board of the Military-Industrial Complex and the Ministry of Industry and Trade with the participation of leading defense industry enterprises: companies that are part of the Rostec State Corporation and organizations of the Rosatom State Corporation. These technological solutions will later become one of the components of the universal air defense system, the need for which was announced the day before by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The main objective of the tests was a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of the latest laser systems in conditions as close to real ones as possible. During the tests, the accuracy of guidance, range of destruction, reaction speed of the systems to moving air targets, as well as their resistance to various weather conditions were checked.

Eight UAV countermeasure systems of varying power took part in the tests – from compact mobile units to high-power stationary systems, which made it possible to obtain the most complete data on the capabilities of modern laser technologies in the fight against unmanned threats. At a specialized testing ground equipped with modern measuring equipment, scenarios for countering UAVs of various types were worked out – from small-sized commercial drones to more complex devices simulating reconnaissance and attack drones.

The tests conducted confirmed the characteristics declared by the manufacturers, the correctness of the chosen directions for the development of integrated defense systems for critical infrastructure facilities from UAVs. Their results will be used to refine existing models and create systems capable of providing reliable protection from modern air attack weapons. The tests allow us to move on to the start of serial production and scaling of the demonstrated solutions.
